Our Purpose
The Urban Services department is rooted in cultural revitalization and restoring our identity within the city. We prioritize the Cree language, working to integrate it into daily life through shared use and immersion. Through hands-on teachings like beading, ribbon skirt making, and dentalium jewelry, we create space for storytelling, mentorship, and connection.
By strengthening relationships between Elders and youth, we help pass on knowledge, traditions, and protocols. Our goal is to ensure our culture is not just remembered, but actively lived—keeping our people grounded as they move forward.
