The Community Safety Officer (CSO) Detachment is dedicated to promoting a safe, respectful, and secure community through proactive patrols, crime prevention initiatives, public education, and community partnerships.
Providing a visible presence throughout the community to promote safety, deter crime, and respond to community concerns.
Supporting public safety through education, awareness initiatives, and proactive community engagement.
Working with residents and community partners to promote crime prevention and reduce safety risks.
Supporting traffic safety through enforcement, education, and community awareness initiatives.
Providing mediation, conflict resolution support, and assistance to community members when appropriate.
Supporting the enforcement of Band Council Resolutions (BCRs) and community bylaws while working alongside local policing services.

The Community Safety Officer (CSO) Program enhances public safety within Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation by providing trained Community Safety Officers who work in partnership with the RCMP, leadership, community organizations, and residents. Although Community Safety Officers are not police officers, they play an important role in promoting community safety through education, prevention, enforcement, and relationship building.

Working collaboratively with the RCMP, leadership, community organizations, and residents to address community safety concerns.
