Our Purpose
The Office of the Chief & Council serves as the governing body of Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation. Acting on behalf of the Nation and its members, Chief & Council provide leadership, governance, and strategic oversight while ensuring community priorities remain at the centre of decision-making. Chief & Council work collaboratively with administration, staff, community members, and external partners to establish long-term goals, guide Nation initiatives, and support the continued growth of Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation. While administration oversees the day-to-day operations of departments and services, Chief & Council focus on leadership, governance, and the strategic direction that shapes the future of the Nation.
