The Four Pillars Program is responsible for delivering programming that revitalizes language, promotes culture, preserves heritage, and strengthens community wellbeing. Through community-led initiatives, the program supports the cultural identity of Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation and creates opportunities for members to reconnect with ancestral knowledge, teachings, and ways of life. Guided by Elders and Knowledge Keepers, the Four Pillars Program honours intergenerational knowledge and takes a holistic, inclusive approach to healing and cultural resurgence. The program works to restore cultural pride, revitalize language, preserve ancestral ways of life, and support healing from the impacts of colonial disruption.
Revitalizing language through mentorship, storytelling, and traditional learning.
Strengthening culture through traditional arts, skills, teachings, and ceremony.
Preserving heritage through ancestral knowledge, oral histories, and land-based learning.
Supporting community wellbeing through traditional medicines, healing, and cultural practices.
We want to restore cultural pride, revitalize our language, preserve ancestral ways & heal from colonial disruption. If you want to learn more, visit the Four Pillars website.
