The Prevention Department supports children, youth, and families by providing programs, education, and services that promote child development, family wellness, resilience, and safe, healthy communities.
Supporting children and families through prevention services that strengthen family wellness, resilience, and healthy relationships.
Providing counselling and therapy services for children, parents, and families, including grief and trauma support.
Supporting families through the Good Food Box program, community garden, food forest, and emergency food assistance.
Providing emergency assistance and support for families experiencing crisis or unexpected challenges.
Creating safe spaces for youth through the Youth Centre while supporting athletics, arts, and positive recreational opportunities.
Empowering parents through education, training, and access to community resources that strengthen family wellbeing.

The Prevention Department is committed to supporting children, youth, and families by providing education, programs, and services that promote child development, family wellness, and resilience. Through prevention-focused initiatives, the department works to strengthen families, reduce risk, and create healthy environments where children can thrive. By working alongside families and connecting them with counselling, community resources, and parenting supports, the department helps build strong support systems that encourage healthy growth, positive relationships, and long-term wellbeing.
