Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation, Treaty 6 – Chief and Council have formally approved the Nation’s 2026 Strategic Priorities following several months of planning, departmental consultation, and community feedback.

The strategic priorities establish a framework for guiding administrative planning and service delivery throughout the coming year. Areas of focus include governance modernization, housing, infrastructure improvements, economic development, community safety, and strengthening services for youth and Elders.

The planning process included presentations from departmental leadership, reviews of existing programs, and discussions regarding emerging community needs. The resulting priorities will help departments coordinate projects and allocate resources more effectively.

Chief and Council emphasized that the priorities are intended to remain flexible throughout the year, allowing Administration to respond to unforeseen opportunities and challenges while continuing to meet the needs of members.

Department managers will now begin incorporating these priorities into annual work plans and reporting schedules.

Members are encouraged to stay informed as progress updates will be shared periodically through the Nation’s communication channels.
