OFFICIAL NOTICE OF ACTION REGARDING UNITS OF INTEREST ENGAGED IN ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES AND CAUSING DISTURBANCES

To All Residents of BOCN,

Chief and Council continue to receive concerns regarding some band-owned homes that have been identified as units of interest due to reports of illegal activity and ongoing disturbances.

We want to assure community members that we are working diligently to address these issues. We are committed to finding effective and lasting solutions while ensuring that all actions are taken fairly and respectfully.

However, this is not a challenge that leadership can address alone. We need the support of community members to help address these issues and strengthen our community.

Community members can assist by:

• Submitting written letters outlining concerns they have witnessed.
• Providing information related to incidents, disturbances, or complaints.
• Reporting ongoing activity that affects the safety and well-being of residents to the RCMP and Community Safety Officers.
• Sharing information that may help Chief and Council better understand and address the situation to council@beardysband.com.

We also remind community members that harboring or enabling individuals who are persons of interest or knowingly allowing illegal or disruptive activity to take place in homes, yards, or on community property makes it more difficult to resolve these concerns. Addressing these matters requires the cooperation and accountability of everyone involved.

Our goal is not to divide families or community members but to work together toward a safer, healthier, and more respectful community for all. We encourage everyone to play a positive role by supporting efforts to reduce illegal activity and disturbances in BOCN.

Units flagged as high interest will be notified individually. Leadership and the Willow Cree Housing Authority will meet on August 10th, 2026, on this matter.

We appreciate the cooperation and commitment of community members as we continue working through these challenges.
